There are those who read alone and those who, after reading alone, seek out others who have also been reading alone to talk about what they've been reading. Some of those people gather with food and wine at the homes of friends or in public places, in order to talk about what they read. Some give themselves names. Generally, though, they are known as "book clubs."
We offer registered book clubs dedicated shelf space for their selected titles as well as a 10% discount to members who buy their books from us. The shelves are at the front of the store where others may discover new books, too, as a result of seeing what book clubs are reading. If your book club is reading, or has read, a title by a visiting author, we can sometimes connect your group for a private pre-event discussion with the author. If you're interested in registering your book club, please call or e-mail Anne McMahon.
REMINDER TO REGISTERED BOOK CLUBS: If you chose a new reading list over the summer, we need a copy! Drop off a hard copy of your list at the front desk, or email your list to: email@example.com. Thank you!
IN-STORE BOOK CLUBS
We also host in-store book clubs on Monday nights. Some of these are hosted by bookselling staff, but all are open to the public. Come to one, several, or more!
